In 2001, after listening to the people of Rockingham County (through a needs assessment of the health and human service needs of Rockingham County), United Way of Rockingham County established five goal areas to help form a united strategy of making our lives and our neighbors lives better. They are:

-Providing Basic Needs

-Ensuring Public Safety

-Helping Youth and Children Succeed

-Optimizing Community & Individual Health

-Enabling Older Adults

These are not just words on a page or dollars on a thermometer.  These are real people with real needs who have had their lives changed for the better because of what you do.
